Bijan Robinson: The Falcons' NFL all-purpose yards king has unfinished business

Despite leading the league with 2,298 all-purpose yards with 2,298 and finishing fifth at the position with 5.2 rushing yards per attempt, the 24-year-old is gunning for more.

Here's what a fired-up Robinson had to say in an interview with the team website.

Individual achievements don't matter to Robinson

"Last year was a cool year, but this year I want to be even better in all aspects," he said.

Some players who achieved what he did may take a moment to reflect on their individual achievement. Not Robinson.

"People always say to me: 'Bro, you're like 12th-highest all-purpose player in NFL history.' But I am like, 'Cool, but it wasn't good enough because we didn't accomplish what we wanted to accomplish.'"

The Falcons ended with four straight wins, but a midseason collapse, during which they lost five in a row, scuppered any hope of a postseason berth.

Atlanta finished with the same 8-9 record as the division-leading Carolina Panthers, but the tiebreakers didn't work in their favour.

Robinson is using it as motivation to push on in 2026, both as a player and as a person.

"Like I say every year, I am just trying to be better than the last year, in all aspects of my game," he said.

"My leadership, my faith, everything, who I am as a person. I am just trying to be a lot better than I was the year before, even when it comes to my goals on the field, off the field."

Robinson on the impact of Christian McCaffrey

As a first-round pick, eighth overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft, Robinson has easily lived up to his billing as one of the more exciting prospects at the position in recent years.

In the three seasons since, he's put up 3,910 rushing yards, 1,738 receiving yards, and accounted for 34 all-purpose touchdowns.

If his physical conditioning heading into his fourth year is to be believed, NFL defenses could be in for an even tougher time.

"I really feel like this is the best I have felt," he said.

He credits that in large part to the offseasons he spent training alongside San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey.

"That's a cool deal, man. We put in work, but we really do take care of our bodies. His regimen has been really good for me, especially last year and what I did throughout the season."

"It was a blessing that I stayed healthy throughout the whole season, but even when the season was over, I felt great to play even more."

He's put the numbers up before. Now he just needs the Falcons to hold up their end. With new coach Kevin Stefanski in town, maybe Atlanta can make some noise in 2025.
