Chicago Bears vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Head-to-head record, results and more

The two teams have seen contrasting fortunes to start the new campaign, with the Bears holding a 3-2 record after mauling the Carolina Panthers last time out.

The Jaguars though are finally off the mark at 1-4 for the campaign, and head to their adopted home across the Atlantic after seeing off the Indianapolis Colts.

Major Bears vs. Jaguars matchups

With just eight prior meetings between them, the Bears and the Jaguars isn't quite the rarest of NFL matchups, but it is among the contenders.

First facing off in 1995, they have met at four-year intervals like clockwork since 1998, with Chicago enjoying more success than their opponents.

That included a win in their very first encounter, when they picked up a 30-27 triumph on their way to a 9-7 record and tiebreaker loss to deny them a postseason spot.

Twice, this matchup has seen one side bullied off the park - in 2004, when the Bears were restricted to a single field goal, and again in 2012, when it was the Jaguars' turn.

They have never met in a postseason game, or in an overtime clash either, though on two occasions, their matchup has been decided by a single point.

In 1998, the Jaguars earned a major win when they picked off the Bears on their own turf with a 24-23 victory.

Almost two decades later, in 2016, they did the feat again, heading up to Illinois and snatching another close-fought victory.

However, the Bears have also recorded some comfortable victories, including in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, when they claimed a 41-17 win in their last encounter.
