Eagles send 'Go Birds' message to astronaut Christina Koch on moon mission

Christina Hammock Koch has never let the small matter of being in space get in the way of making time to connect with her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
Koch launched on 1 April on the Artemis II, the first crewed lunar mission since 1972, along with commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
While making history as the first woman to travel beyond low Earth orbit, Koch received the following message from the Eagles with the words 'GO BIRDS' etched into it.
It's not the first time Koch has made the headlines for mixing space travel with her Philly fandom.
In 2020, during a 328-day stint on the ISS, Koch posted a photo of herself in an Eagles shirt after watching Philadelphia beat the Dallas Cowboys. She was getting NFL broadcasts beamed up from Houston.
Many fans go to great lengths to keep up with their team, no matter the circumstances, but Koch is in a league of her own.
