The Arizona Cardinals can trace their origins back to the 19th century, but they haven't enjoyed much postseason success.
With roots in Chicago and nearly three decades spent in St. Louis, the Cardinals have a lot of history behind them - and even a couple of championships.
Those titles pre-dated the modern NFL; thus, the Cardinals remain among the 12 teams - and the oldest in the league - that have never won the Super Bowl.

| February 1, 2009 | Super Bowl XLIII | Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23 Arizona Cardinals |
Arizona has appeared in just one Super Bowl, which they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers despite heroics from wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
The team is still awaiting its next appearance.
The Arizona Cardinals have never won the Super Bowl, although they do have two NFL championships to their name.
Both titles came before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, with the first a 1925 championship mired in scandal.
Pottsville was stripped of the league lead and suspended for playing an unauthorised exhibition game in a rival team's territory, while Chicago scheduled two additional games against weak opposition, including one in which a Cardinals player secretly hired high schoolers to play for the other side to boost its own record and claim the title.
The Cardinals' 1947 championship was more straightforward, as they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in front of over 30,000 at Comiskey Park.
