Washington's late-season surge
Washington was fighting for third-read looks in early October, but just a few weeks later, he became one of Trevor Lawrence's favourite targets.
Two 100-yard outings in his final two regular-season games and seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown against Buffalo in the Wild Card round announced his arrival in a big way.
Revealing details of a text exchange with the wideout in an interview with Action Sports Jax, Coen suggested Parker can't wait to pick up where he left off.
"I texted Parker last week, just a little 'here we go man, let's get ready to go,' and he was like, 'I'm ready to kill, I'm just ready to go,' and that's all I need to hear from him.
"I've always been super-impressed with Parker, his work ethic, his preparation; he's usually the first guy in the building," Coen continued.
"Him and Trevor [Lawrence] have really built chemistry and a connection. That's something we all appreciate and respect a ton."
Does a big payday await Washington?
Washington's heading into the final year of his rookie deal, but Coen didn't sound remotely concerned about where things are in negotiations.
"Whether he's signed pre-training camp or during training camp, not, I have a lot of confidence that we're going to get the best version of Parker Washington."
If Coen's prediction holds and Washington breaks out the way he expects, that price only climbs the longer the Jaguars wait.
