Verse says Sack Summit could be the 'difference between Pro Bowl and All Pro'

He showed up on Good Morning Football this week after attending his first Sack Summit as a member of the Cleveland Browns, an event where he was pleased to play the student.

"The ego has died," he said. "You've got Von Miller, Maxx Crosby, Cam Jordan, you've got all these elite pass rushers that have done dominant things."

The annual event, founded by Von Miller and now in its ninth year, has become a staple of the offseason calendar for NFL pass rushers.

Hosted by Miller, Maxx Crosby and Cam Jordan in Las Vegas, players swap tips on technique and take part in various drills.

The opportunity to hang around with future Hall of Famers wasn't lost on Verse.

"I get to stand next to Maxx, next to Von, next to Cam, and they're giving me tips, add this move, you need to try this a little bit and do this a little bit, and that ups your sacks.

"I'm going to take all that in, because you know, Von Miller, however much it was, 120, 30, 40-something sacks, I'm going to listen to every word he says."

For the record, Miller's number sits at 138.5, the most of any player still active, but Verse wasn't finished.

"Maxx has been All-Pro, consistently killing everybody, and Cam's just dog across the board, relentless, so I'm going to listen to every word they say."

He then explained how the advice he received could add a few extra sacks to his tally. And that, he said, could be "the difference between Pro Bowl and All Pro."

The viral Crosby footage Verse wasn't dodging

Presenter and former NFL safety Donte Whitner pulled up this clip of Crosby beating Verse in a race at the Summit.

"We're not gonna talk about him jumping offsides?" Verse said, laughing, before getting serious again. "Maxx's get-off is lethal," he added. "He has one of the best get-offs I've seen in the league."

Crosby ranks third in Raiders franchise history for sacks and sixth-most among all players since he entered the league back in 2019, so the praise is fully justified.

Verse heads into training camp with the Browns this month, and if any of what he picked up in the desert shows up on Sundays, Cleveland's defensive line could be in good shape, even without Garrett.
