Jeremiyah Love draws mixed reviews at Arizona Cardinals training camp

The Cardinals caused a bit of a stir when they selected former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
So there were plenty of eyes on the former Doak winner when Arizona opened training camp last week, and opinions seem somewhat mixed.
Hackett lukewarm on Love?
Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was asked Sunday whether he already sees a starter emerging in Arizona's crowded running back room.
It's still early, but his response wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
It reads even more pointed given James Conner is coming back from a foot injury that ended his 2025 season after just three games.
Brissett sees Love differently
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who agreed to a reworked deal with $15.5 million on Sunday, had a very different take on his rookie teammate.
What Love's tape shows
What's not up for debate is that Love has looked the part physically. ESPN's Josh Weinfuss noted he was "fast, quick and powerful."
The rookie also got reps with the first-team offense during Saturday's "jog-through" session, alternating with Tyler Allgeier.
Love was a star for Notre Dame, finishing his college career with 2,497 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns over his last two years alone.
How quickly he pries touches away from Conner and Allgeier is going to be one of the more interesting subplots of Cardinals camp, whatever Hackett's word choice suggested on Sunday.
The bookmakers, for what it's worth, still have Love as the favourite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, ahead of Fernando Mendoza and Carnell Tate.
