Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs arrested on five charges

Josh Jacobs has been arrested on five domestic violence charges, the most serious of which is a felony, according to a Hobart-Lawrence Police Department press release.
Police were called to a disturbance complaint involving the Green Bay Packers running back on Saturday morning, with Tuesday's arrest stemming from that incident.
Jacobs was booked into Brown County Jail in Wisconsin.
What charges does Jacobs face?
The strangulation and suffocation charge is a felony, with four misdemeanour counts alongside it: battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim.
Hobart-Lawrence police chief Michael Renkas confirmed the investigation is continuing:Â "This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time."
Jacobs, Packers and NFL respond
Jacobs denied the charges, with attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac releasing a statement on his behalf.
"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
The Packers confirmed they are aware of the matter:Â "As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment."
The NFL confirmed it had been in contact with Green Bay.
Jacobs' NFL career
A first-team All-Pro in 2022 and three-time Pro Bowler (2020, 2022, 2024), Jacobs signed with Green Bay as a free agent in 2024 after leading the NFL in rushing with the Las Vegas Raiders.
He ran for 929 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in 15 games last season and is under contract with the Packers through 2027.
