The Detroit Lions announced on Monday they are releasing cornerback Terrion Arnold after Hillsborough County (Florida) judge Christopher Sabella found probable cause for Arnold to face felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping, but denied prosecutors' request for him to be kept in prison until his trial with bond set at $1 million. But they come with conditions which doesn't electronic monitoring.

Arnold must surrender his passport in the next 48 hours, have no contact with the six co-defendants or the witnesses involved with the case, and is to be confined to his residence in Tallahassee, Florida, except when he's playing, training and traveling with the Lions or making court-related appearances or legal appointments.

Sabella acknowledged the charges against Arnold are serious but said prosecutors are "not there yet" in showing a strong enough case for Arnold's guilt.

ESPN reports the incident followed Arnold telling police that more than $250,000 worth of property had been stolen from an Airbnb he was renting in Largo, Florida.

Per ESPN, the state attorney's office accused Arnold of "coordinating and directing the codefendants" to lure his personal driver and two associates to an apartment.

All three men were reportedly pistol-whipped and held at gunpoint, though investigators later determined they were not involved in the original theft.

A group chat was also identified by investigators, in which Arnold and co-defendant Boakai Hilton allegedly directed others during the assault.

The Lions had selected Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
