NFL doubles down on Spain with landmark multi-year deal to host regular season games in Madrid

The NFL’s global expansion is increasing at a rapid pace, with Madrid officially confirmed as a regular-season destination under a new multi-year agreement.
Games will be played at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, with the Spanish capital set to welcome its first regular-season NFL contest as early as 2026.
"The 2025 NFL Madrid game at the Bernabéu was a pivotal moment for the sport in Spain, and we are delighted to confirm that we will return to play a regular season game in 2026 in a multi-year partnership with the City of Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid and Real Madrid C.F.," said the NFL's Spain country manager, Rafa De Los Santos.
The announcement was accompanied by a promotional video.
The Bernabéu hosted its first NFL regular-season game in November, when the Miami Dolphins beat the Washington Commanders 16-13 in front of a bumper 78,610-strong crowd.
League officials have consistently framed international games as a long-term strategy rather than a novelty, with Europe viewed as a key growth market for both fandom and commercial partnerships.
As part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program, the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins have secured marketing rights in Spain, allowing them to build awareness and connect with fans through events, activations, and commercial initiatives.
While teams and the exact length of the deal have yet to be announced, the multi-year structure signals a long-term commitment to bringing the world's most exciting sports to Europe’s biggest and best stadiums.
