Under the stewardship of defensive-minded coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks have rebuilt themselves into a fearsome defensive unit.
Seattle rank among the top defenses in both rush-yardage allowed and third-down percentage.
Their front seven plays with intelligence and tenacity, creating pressure without needing to blitz constantly – a testament to Macdonald’s ability to craft a scheme that wins by assignment and discipline as much as by pure athleticism.
Los Angeles Rams – aggressive front, rising coordinator stock
The Rams’ 2025 defence is built on aggression up front.
Their defensive line – featuring emerging talents such as Jared Verse and Braden Fiske – has been harassing quarterbacks consistently, forcing hurried throws and creating pressure that the rest of the defense thrives off.
With Chris Shula calling the shots, Los Angeles have crafted a physical, fast and opportunistic unit that ranks among the best in points allowed and total defensive yardage.
Cleveland Browns – one dominant force defining the unit

Cleveland’s defense may not always look flashiest, but it has one weapon so devastating that opponents dread game day: Myles Garrett. With 19 sacks through Week 13, Garrett is on pace to smash the NFL’s single-season sack record, and his presence alone forces offensive lines to account for him – often freeing up teammates and turning game plans upside down.
The Browns blend that pass rush with a combination of disciplined linebacker play and coverage that makes them suddenly much tougher to attack through the air or on the ground alike.
