Cornerback Trevon Diggs has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks waived receiver Julian Hicks to make space in their 90-man roster for the two-time Pro Bowler.
After spending six seasons with the Cowboys, Diggs signed with the Packers late last year, only to be released 20 days later.
Do the Seahawks need another cornerback?
According to reports, the Seahawks have some concerns over their cornerback situation, making Diggs the second signing for that position in less than a week.
“It could be because of age, it could be depth, it could be performance. Either way you slice it, there’s concern in that room.” Said Michael Bumps on Bump and Stacy.
Seattle signed Terrion Arnold, but he is expected to go onto the commissioner's list after facing eight felony charges associated with a robbery and kidnapping attempt in Florida last February.
This leaves the Seahawks with Devon Witherspoon, the now highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, alongside Josh Jobe and an injured Julian Neal.
What Diggs will bring to Seattle
As a second-round pick from Alabama, Diggs was a starter during his first season with the Cowboys, but it was his sophomore year when he shined.
The cornerback was named first-team All-Pro and went to the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in interceptions that season.
From then on, his numbers were never the same after battling a groin injury in 2024 and concussion symptoms in 2025 before being released by Dallas.
Diggs will bring veteran experience to Seattle, but it will remain a question whether he will manage to bond with the cornerback room and finish the season with the Seahawks.
