Alabama QB Ty Simpson exudes confidence in Combine interviews

Ty Simpson arrived at the NFL Combine fully aware that his critics would question whether he has enough experience to warrant first-round consideration in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The former Alabama quarterback knows his résumé isn’t stacked with years of starting tape, but he believes his preparation - and his time in a fiercely competitive Alabama quarterback room - outweigh any concerns.
In 2025, Simpson battled multiple injuries, yet still completed 64.5% of his passes for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns, throwing just five interceptions.
The 23-year-old will be eager to put any lingering worries about his durability behind him when quarterbacks take part in athletic testing and position drills on Saturday, streaming live on DAZN.
Quarterback demand will once again shape the top of the draft board, with Indiana's Fernando Mendoza widely expected to be the Las Vegas Raiders’ pick at No. 1 overall.
Beyond Mendoza, Simpson is making his case to solidify himself as the next-best gunslinger in the class.
Where he lands - and which team ultimately takes a chance on him - remains one of the more intriguing storylines of this draft cycle.
The Jets are a potential fit, possibly with the second of their two first-round selections at No. 16 overall, and that's a scenario that appears to appeal to Simpson.
Whether he ultimately hears his name called in the first round or later, Simpson made one thing clear in Indianapolis: he views himself as a future franchise leader.
