Some of the leading lights beyond the major North American professional league will compete for the chance to be crowned the best over a two-week-plus schedule.

Nations such as Japan, Mexico, the United States, South Korea and more will contest across three countries in a thrilling competition, where only one can be left standing.

What is the WBSC Premier12?

The WBSC Premier12 is an international baseball tournament organised by the World Baseball Softball Confederation and first held in 2015.

It is one of two major international events sanctioned by the governing body, along with the World Baseball Classic, which is the de-facto replacement for the Baseball World Cup.

The tournament features the dozen top-ranked teams from around the globe and consists of two stages - an Opening Round featuring two groups of six, and a Super Round.

The latter stage is contested by the final four teams, including each two that finished top of their respective groups during the initial stages of the event.

2024 WBSC Premier12 dates and locations

The 2024 WBSC Premier12 will be held between  Saturday, November 9  and  Sunday, November 24  across three countries - Mexico, Taiwan and Japan.

The former two nations will respectively host Group A and Group B in the Opening Round, while the latter will also host Group B fixtures and the Super Round.

The host cities include Guadalajara and Tepic in Mexico, Taipei in Taiwan and Nagoya and Tokyo in Japan, with the tournament held across six host venues.

2024 WBSC Premier12 teams

The dozen top-ranked international teams in baseball will feature in the 2024 edition of the WBSC Premier12, split initially intwo two groups.

Defending champions Japan, along with fellow hosts Mexico and Taiwan - under their competitive sporting designation as Chinese Taipei - are included, as are the United States.

South Korea, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Australia and Puerto Rico fill out the rest of the competition.
