FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Final Phase: Schedule, teams and how to watch

There is no time to rest as the quarter-final qualifiers commence, with eight sides battling it out to reach the last eight of the competition.

Four teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals by finishing top of their respective groups and are waiting in the wings.

What is the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Final Phase?

The Final Phase of the World Cup is essentially the knockout stages, starting with the quarter-final qualifiers.

Then, the four victorious countries advance to the last eight, where they will face the group winners: Spain, France, Belgium and the USA.

From the quarter-finals onwards, the competition takes on a traditional format, with the semi-finals followed by the third-place game and the final.

Which teams have qualified for the Final Phase?

Spain, France, Belgium and World Cup favourites the USA all qualified for the quarter-finals, having won their respective groups.

Finishing second in their groups, Germany, Hungary, Australia and China have all advanced and will play in a quarter-final qualifier against third-placed teams.

Those third-placed sides include Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico and the Czech Republic.
