N/AImani Stafford-McGee had her best ever game in a Puerto Rico vest and while it wasn't quite enough to avoid a 76-64 loss, she produced the highest performance efficiency valuation of the day at 28. That came thanks to a monstrous double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds.
One of the main reasons that the Cats took the win was a fine contribution from playmaking ace Julie Allemand. The Belgian standout flirted with a triple-double by claiming 11 points, 10 boards and 8 assists.
China were left breathing a sigh of relief as they squeezed past Czechia 74-70 in an overtime thriller. It was Xu Han who carried her team brilliantly. The China captain went to work and harvested a majestic 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists.
Australia made it two wins in two games after easing their way past Türkiye 87-71 thanks to Steph Talbot continuing her impressive tournament with an all-action 17 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Sevgi Uzun was unfortunate to be on the losing team after also putting in a tremendous effort. She recorded 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in defeat.
