How can Joshua use Prenga test to tee up Fury weight?
Joshua vs. Prenga: Only on DAZN PPV - Saturday

Anthony Joshua will bid to tee up his Tyson Fury super-bout in style tomorrow when he faces Kristian Prenga in Jeddah.

The Briton will head to Saudi Arabia for his first bout of 2026 against the Albanian, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View and Ultimate.

Success for Joshua in Saudi Arabia will pave the path to a long-awaited clash with domestic rival Fury, set for later this year.

Intriguingly however, it will also allow the London 2012 favourite the chance to show new tricks learned with Oleksandr Usyk.

The star has spoken about how working with his former foe-turned-friend's team has helped improve his fight conditioning.

But just how much will he weigh in comparison? DAZN News crunches the star's recent numbers on the scales for an answer.

What has Joshua weighed in recent fights?

Taken across his past five fights - effectively his post-Usyk career - Joshua has kept to a relatively close shape and weight.

Indeed, if the fluctuation of his size for Jake Paul - 243.3lbs - is removed from the equation, there has been little variation.

Just a pound separated Joshua's weight for his bouts with Robert Helanius and Otto Wallin, at 250lbs and 251lbs respectively.

Then, it was a mere fraction for Francis Ngannou and Daniel Dubois, with 'AJ' weighing in at 252.4lbs and 252.5lbs for the pair.

Those numbers suggest a happy weight for the star by and large - but his loss to 'Dynamite' may have reshaped his thinking.

What has Joshua been doing with Usyk?

Speaking with DAZN's Ade Oladipo ahead of his trip to Saudi Arabia, Joshua waxed lyrical about Usyk and his conditioning.

The star knows, from sharing the ring twice, that the Ukrainian has long held a strong engine for his size, key in late rounds.

If he has sought to replicate that level of output and durability across a dozen rounds, then such fitness will be a critical asset.

A lighter, leaner Joshua showed that he could do the business against Paul last December, though his foe was outmatched.

Prenga, with his imposing heft, may prove a sterner test of those abilities - but also the ideal opponent with an eye on Fury.

Could a lighter Joshua work against Fury?

In theory, yes. Fury had some major weight differences against Usyk, and still came up short in both of their encounters too.

Replicating 'The Cat' is no mean feat, and nor should Joshua seek to employ his style. But his speed could be consequential.

Fury has looked frequently tired in the latter stages of his fights, even if his relentless engine ensures he will keep on coming.

Joshua needs to find a way to counter-act that. With Prenga, he will hope to use the Albanian as a suitable test for his weight.

Whatever the star measures in at, his time with Usyk could prove critical to his fitness - and with it, an ace for his Fury bout.
