DAZN News rounds up the biggest boxing stories on Thursday, August 13.
Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre believes Ryan Garcia will be stopped by Conor Benn when the pair meet in their WBC welterweight title encounter.
The American defends his crown against the Briton next month in Las Vegas, and will be seeking another marquee triumph for his resume.
But famed trainer McIntyre believes Benn can surprise the home favourite, telling The Last Stand Podcast: "He's going to probably stop him."
"Ryan hasn't been the same since that fight with [Devin] Haney. He got popped. I have seen Benn first hand. That dude is going to destroy Garcia."
Noel Mikaelian risks being stripped of his WBC cruiserweight title if he proceeds with next month's bout against Zuffa contender Jai Opetaia.
Governing president Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed that there could be sanctions unless the star agrees to face David Benavidez instead next.
Mikaelian previously suggested discussions with the latter had fallen through, forcing him to seek an alternative opponent in ex-IBF man Opetaia.
But now, Sulaiman has told Boxing Scene that the German-Armenian risks losing his crown if he proceeds to face the Australian star in the ring.
Floyd Schofield Jr. and Lucas Bahdi will meet for the vacant WBA lightweight title after promoters avoided a purse bid to strike a major deal.
The pair, represented by Golden Boy Promotions and Most Valuable Promotions respectively, are expected to meet in Las Vegas this October.
Ranked one and two by the governing body, Schofield will be ending a lengthy wait to return to the ring, having last been out in June 2025.
"We are thankful for the opportunity to fight for a title," manager Michael Miller told The Ring. "It's something we've been waiting on for years."
