Keys to Victory: Where will Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper break each other down?

Dubois’ WBC lightweight title and Harper’s WBO strap will both be on the line, live at the Olympia. MVP’s all-women's main card also touts Ellie Scotney vs. Mayelli Flores in a junior featherweight world championship unification bout as its chief support.

Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs), the younger sister of former heavyweight world champion Daniel Dubois, is coming off a bustling 2025 in which she fought three times.

After boxing Jessica Camara to a draw in January, Dubois delivered a majority decision over Bo Mi Re Shin in March and a unanimous decision shutout of Camilla Panatta in December. She clashes with Terri Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) whose sole action of 2025 was a unanimous decision win against Natalie Zimmerman in May.

Will Dubois push herself to the forefront at lightweight by becoming its unified champ? Or will the more experienced Harper shine under the spotlight by seizing the moment herself?

Establish jab early

Caroline Dubois has a crisp, snappy jab that lands and often pops opponents’ heads back.

Establishing this weapon early against a veteran like Terri Harper will allow Dubois to dictate the terms of this unification bout and bring subsequent forward-fighting pressure.

Change levels, make deposits to the body

Dubois does a pointed job at changing levels and making hard deposits to the body.

These body shots could go long ways to possibly slowing Harper down and fatiguing the WBO lightweight champ as the fight goes on.

Watch Dubois in action and she is a brilliant ring operator when it comes to landing shots, while keeping her head off the center line.

Whether it is a check right hook, detonating a sniper-like one-two or unloading an overhand left, Dubois will land her shot and move her head out of harm's way smoothly.

This head movement could be crucial against Harper who has a tendency to stand a bit upright at times.

Stand up to Dubois’ pressure with pressure of her own

When opponents fight forward against Terri Harper, the WBO lightweight champ does a solid job at warding them off by launching a flurry in the pocket.

These peppering blows allow Harper to stand her ground against pressure with pressure of her own. They also win her points on judges' scorecards.

She might have to deploy this cagey tactic to keep Caroline Dubois off of her tonight.

Keep head off the center line

Harper, at times, can stand a bit too upright, which could leave her susceptible to Dubois’ deep bag of punches, including her one-two, overhand left and check right hook.

Harper must make it a conscious decision to show more movement around the ring.

Punch in traffic without getting erratic

Harper shows plenty of grit in the pocket, punching in traffic effectively.

However, while it is one of her strong suits, it can also be a liability as she could get overzealous, leaving her vulnerable to Dubois’ pointed pressure.

Therefore, Harper must punch in traffic when she needs to, collect the points and momentum swings she can and keep boxing without getting erratic.
