In a year of thrilling fights, Mark Chamberlain and Pierce O’Leary delivered another last weekend as their up and down thriller was eventually won by the former in the tenth session.
O’Leary got himself back into the fight following an awful start after his nose was broken and he was dropped twice.
Despite those setbacks, he chipped away at Chamberlain and managed to drop him with a superb body shot, but Chamberlain wouldn't be denied as he finally closed the show after a terrific battle with several big assaults.
Immediately, the fight was labelled one of the best of the year, but how does it compare with another stunning battle from May when Daniel Dubois defeated Fabio Wardley ?
Like O’Leary, Dubois was down twice early, but he was able to rally and punish Wardley down the stretch as he landed a huge right hand to end matters in the fight’s penultimate round after Wardley had taken so much punishment.
The fight was credited as being one of the best in the heavyweight division, but has it been the best fight this year?
