Diego Pacheco interested in Jaime Munguia title fight next; could Canelo be in the future?

"Is there a better fight than Diego Pacheco against Jaime Munguia for the WBA Super Middleweight Title?" Pacheco's promoter and chairman of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, asked DAZN's Chris Mannix when questioned about what could be next for his fighter.
"We'll be back around November, and we will be back here (at Dignity Health Sports Park). We want to be back in this arena, and we want to be against another big name. Whether it's a world championship in November or in the spring 2027, you will see Diego fight for the world championship. And if we can get Jaime Mungia, we'll go and beat him, and then we'll face Canelo Alvarez as well."
Hearing his promoter speak those words was music to the 25-year-old's ears as he was in agreement, especially when it came to Munguia.
"I got a lot of respect for Jaime Munguia," Pacheco told Mannix. "That's a guy I've looked up to since I was a kid. I remember being in Mexico when I was watching him win his first world title at 154. Ever since I knew that down the line, that was a possible fight for me. I got nothing for respect for him. If he gives me the opportunity, we could definitely rumble."
Before a Canelo fight can materialize, boxing's biggest returns on an unknown date that's likely to occur in October against Christian Mbili for the vacant WBC super middleweight title.
A Pacheco-Munguia clash has been discussed in the past but has failed to come to fruition. Munguia won the WBA belt in his last time out with the best performance of his career in May against Anthony Resendiz.
