Gary Antuanne Russell overcame the rugged challenge of Andy Hiraoka to secure the first defence of his WBA super-lightweight title on Saturday.
The star looked to further cement his place at the top of the division at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a frequently absorbing contest.
Despite the Japanese star's cleaner bodywork, Russell's output aided him in scoring a comfortable decision, aided by his foe's repeated low blows.
Victory may tee up a chance to unify in the division further in 2026, with Shakur Stevenson and Dalton Smith among possible options to pursue.
