Hamzah Sheeraz, Josh Kelly reveal plans after harder than expected fights Saturday night

Sheeraz needed a majority decision to slip past Simon Zachenhuber, following Kelly’s close unanimous decision over Irish fighter Caoimhin Agyarko, on the Anthony Joshua-Kristian Prenga card. However, that didn’t stop either world champion from looking forward to his next target following the harder than expected victories.

After eking past Zachenhuber for his first defense of the WBO super middleweight title, Sheeraz (24-0-1, 19 KOs) conceded that he’ll be in attendance in Riyadh for the October 31 tilt to witness Canelo Alvarez challenge WBC champion Christian Mbilli and that he’s open to fight any of the titleholders at 168 pounds.

Kelly, the IBF super welterweight world champion, was bloodied up at the hands of Agyarko, but still made it a point to make his next intentions clear, too.

During Kelly’s exit from the ring, DAZN asked him if he has any message for Jaron 'Boots' Ennis. To that, Kelly replied: “Listen, styles make fights. Don’t worry.”

Ennis seemingly heard the shout out loud and clear, taking to his X social media account and typing to Kelly “see you soon!”

Kelly (19-1-1, 9 KOs) had previously told Inside the Ring that he’d welcome a fight with Ennis, the owner of the WBA/WBO super welterweight titles.

“They already know how I box, how and who I am, so I’d love that,” Kelly said about Ennis during the buildup of Saturday night's fight with Agyarko. “I’ve got the utmost respect for [Ennis], but this is a fight game.

“When it’s me versus you, all the respect goes out the window,” he added. “I’m in there to do a job and do my job clinically.”

While Saturday night’s performances from Sheeraz and Kelly weren’t as dominating as they’d hoped for, each man still won and can see how the remainder of their 2026 pans out.
