Harlem Eubank stresses he is the "betting underdog" against David Papot, but insists he is not looking past the Frenchman.
The Briton fights for the first time in 2026 at London's Copper Box Arena in a welterweight contest, live worldwide on DAZN.
Eubank is seeking to build a case for a world title shot, and has already stated his desire to challenge IBF holder Liam Paro.
But ahead of his latest encounter with Papot, the 32-year-old is unequivocal that he is not letting his focus slip away from him.
"I'm the betting underdog in this fight," he told Sky Sports News. "He is an experienced operator. "It's a fight that excites me.
"I can't wait to get in there. I see this as a bit of an eliminator. He is ranked above me with the IBF. We are both highly ranked.
"Defeating Papot will give me a top-five position, put me in line to fight the champion. [It] is a fight that can be easily made.
"But I'm fully focused on Papot. My team decided this was exactly the fight I needed to push on and earn a title opportunity."
