Joe Cordina is still the IBF super-featherweight champion of the world, but it didn't come easy.
Cordina faced Edward Vazquez on Saturday night in Monaco, with the challenger's agressiveness and energy clearly unsettling for the champion. Vazquez pushed the pace throughout the 12 rounds, with Cordina looking to counter and keep his opponent at range, as the men went back and forth trading the momentum until the final bell.
In the end, the judges' scorecards showed a majority decision for the Welsh fighter, who improves to 17-0 with the victory.
