Justis Huni manager reacts to brutal Fabio Wardley knockout defeat
Watch Opetaia vs Squeo live NOW on DAZN

Justis Huni's manager, Spencer Brown, felt "sick" after his fighter was knocked out by Fabio Wardley on Saturday night in Ipswich.

The two heavyweights clashed live on DAZN, and for nine rounds, Huni was on top. His amateur background was in full flow against Wardley with his shot selection proving effective against Wardley who struggled to gain a foothold.

The contest was then flipped on its head in round 10 when Wardley floored Huni with a right hand prompting delirium in the Portman Road stands.

This knockout was the first defeat of Huni's professional career, and speaking to The Stomping Ground after the fight, Brown was proud of his man despite what transpired in the ring.

"I’m sick, Justis is alright that’s the main thing," Brown said.

"He’s got no adverse effects from the punch, I’m just gutted for him, gutted for his team. He came in late, did everybody proud, he was winning by at least five rounds."

There were some calls of controversy from Huni's camp with claims that he met the referee's count.

But while Brown believes the count was quick, he also revealed that Huni's manager Mick Francis wants a rematch with the hard-hitting Wardley.

"Look, it is what it is, I don’t think it was a full 10 count. We’ve looked at it and it looks like a nine to me. I think they should at least have given him a little bit of time, Justis said he was still groggy, but was coming to.

"I spoke to his manager Mick Francis and they want a rematch."
