“Beauty vs. The Beast” is set to detonate tonight when Tommy Fury clashes with Eddie Hall at Manchester’s AO Arena, and live on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
After a lengthy layoff of roughly 18 months from the ring, Fury (11-0, 4 KOs) returned to action in May 2025, claiming a quiet six-round unanimous decision over Kenan Hanjalic.
This crossover bout, powered by Misfits Boxing, has him colliding with Hall, the 2017 World’s Strongest Man. Hall doesn’t tout boxing experience other than a unanimous decision loss to fellow strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson back in March 2022.
Will Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, give Hall a boxing lesson? Or will Hall use his 100-plus pounds of mass advantage to muscle Fury around in an upset? DAZN News analyzes the Keys to Victory for both fighters in this unique matchup.
Tommy Fury must assert his lead left hand to keep a menacing Eddie Hall at bay. The jab will not only generate points and rounds for Fury, but ‘TNT’ also has the opportunity to turn that stick into a lead left hook to surprise Hall at times.
Dipping down and stabbing to the body isn’t going to hurt Hall, but regular deposits to the midsection could aid in halting the strongman’s forward progress and thus, forcing him to frustratingly reset his offense. Besides, the stab jab is already part of Fury’s arsenal, and he shouldn’t abandon it now.
A traditional jab upstairs and stabbing to the body will help Fury keep a healthy distance between he and a hulking Hall. However, Fury must also make the larger man work, and he could compel that issue by moving laterally around the ring. Movement can lead to Hall’s 325.6-pound motor chugging, where Fury can then take advantage with hand speed and boxing ability.
With over 100 pounds of weight advantage on Tommy Fury, Eddie Hall must use his mass to pressure and smother ‘TNT.’ Bullishly manufacturing phone booth action is how Hall can negate Fury’s jab and tee off on the younger brother of Tyson Fury — even if it means him eating a jab or two to barge his way inside.
I watched footage of Eddie Hall against fellow strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, and Hall was successful at times connecting on wild haymakers. In other sequences, he whiffed way off the mark. Still, with all that strength backing him, Hall ought to take his chances and detonate the one-hitter quitters he deems necessary.
Although I’m pinpointing the haymakers as a Key to Victory for Hall, the strongman must launch them with at least some education. After all, swinging and missing too widely against a professional boxer is a certain recipe to get caught with a well-timed counterpunch that could alter the fight … or stop it altogether.
So, Hall must show some discretion in ensuring he doesn’t get too erratic with his attempts. Plus, each wide swing and miss could sap his own energy level, allowing him to be picked apart by Fury’s boxing that much more.
I expect Fury to establish enough of his sweet science skills to edge Hall on points, even threatening to stop the strongman if ‘TNT’ is willing to shift into a higher gear. However, Hall, on his sheer size and strength, should make this interesting with the kinds of bombs he throws. That said, Fury should do his part to tame ‘The Beast’ and emerge unscathed.
