Ryan Garcia made good on his career-long promise as he dethroned Mario Barrios to become world champion for the first time on Saturday night.
The Californian claimed the WBC welterweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to score the biggest win of his career in boisterous fashion.
Having never previously held a full major strap, Garcia's success drew a line under what has been a difficult few years as he outmatched his foe.
Barrios never recovered from a first-round trip to the canvas and was comprehensively outboxed to end his own tough tenure as reigning champion.
