Roy Jones Jr has played his part in several high-profile bouts, but is he ready to step into the ring one more time against Tommy Fury ?
Once boxing’s best fighter for a number of years, Jones Jr was universally acclaimed as he collected multiple world titles across various weight classes beating legendary names including James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. Jones Jr's brilliance also saw him perform his own ring entrance song as well as releasing rap albums.

In 2020, long past his best, Jones Jr featured in a contest against Mike Tyson as two former legendary names squared off despite possessing nowhere near the same ability and skill they did at their primes.
That exhibition has now made Jones Jr a standout name when it comes to fight of this nature and he has been linked to showdown with many influencers and competitors from other fighting backgrounds.
Although Fury still possesses ambitions to win titles at the highest level in boxing, his recent record has saw him take on major names from the YouTube world with wins against Jake Paul and KSI.
This weekend, Fury takes on Eddie Hall in Manchester and if victorious there will be many fighters queueing up to take him on as he is currently embroiled in other feuds including a nasty one with Darren Till.
Jones Jr has been mentioned as a possible Fury opponent briefly in the past, but would he be willing to take on the challenge at 57 years of age.
“Is me vs. Tommy Fury dead? Nothing’s dead forever. Roy Jones is still alive. Tommy Fury is still alive. Nothing’s dead forever. Who knows?” said Jones Jr when speaking to BettingLounge.co.uk .
“For the right money, it would force me into the gym to prepare, yes. If they give me $10 million, of course. Ten and upwards, yes. If they don’t give me $10 million and upwards, no. I’m not wasting my time.”
