MANCHESTER – Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois have made their final, but very different predictions for tonight’s WBO world heavyweight title clash in Manchester.
Broadcast exclusively live on DAZN PPV and DAZN Ultimate, Wardley and Dubois are expected to produce a Fight of the Year contender, with promoter Frank Warren labelling it as Britain’s answer to Hagler-Hearns.
Whether this contest lives up to the billing will not be known until this evening, but it is proving tough to call with both men known for leaving their respective opponents in a heap following a brutal knockout blow.
As is customary in fight week, Wardley and Dubois were asked to make their final predictions before the opening bell.
Yes, both man would say that they would win, but it’s how they delivered their prediction at Thursday’s final press conference which was interesting.
First up was the challenger Dubois, whose tension and reluctance to engage in the fight week carnival has been the talk of the boxing world, and that continued with his verdict on the outcome of tonight’s fight.
“I win by any means necessary. I’m here for business, let’s fight,” Dubois responded when asked to give his prediction.
Dubois was helped by agent Sam Jones to add more substance to his fighter’s comments.
“What you will get is his part in fight of the year on Saturday,” Jones said.
“That’s what you’re going to get, a violent performance from Daniel Dubois on Saturday.”

When it came to Fabio’s turn as the defending champion to make his prediction, he was more specific and is ready to add another highlight reel knockout to his resume.
“By knockout, I’m more specific. I will provide entertainment, value for money for the fans.
“Ultimately, I’m going to clear him out, no questions, land clean, land sharp.”
While Fabio was more direct and confident of delivering a knockout finish, Dubois is ready to bring the thunder.
He weighed in at a career heaviest 251.7lbs at Friday’s weigh-in, with Wardley nearly 10lbs lighter at 242.2.
Now all that’s left to do is see if these two British rivals can live up to their promise and deliver a fight for the ages in Manchester.
