Daniel Dubois has paid tribute to his father and his dedication ahead of a huge showdown with Fabio Wardley on Saturday night.
Dubois is set to face WBO heavyweight champion Wardley live exclusively on DAZN PPV and DAZN Ultimate, and the contest is generating plenty of excitement.
For Dubois, this is the chance to bounce back from his loss to Oleksandr Usyk last year in a big way, and to get a world title around his waist in such quick time will be an impressive feat.
Becoming a two-time world heavyweight champion would be another achievement for Daniel to add to the Dubois family legacy.
Daniel and his sister Caroline have been the shining lights, with both enjoying world title reigns and rising to the top of their respective weight divisions, and their younger brother Solomon is being touted for big things in the sweet science.
However, this Dubois boxing legacy would not have happened if it were not for their father Stanley, who has the final say in whatever decision his children need to make in their respective boxing careers.
Speaking to DAZN, Dubois acknowledged that without the passion and dedication of his father, he would not be enjoying the life that he has today.
"Well, I’ve lived a life, so I guess I wouldn’t be here without him," Dubois said.
"I wouldn’t be here without the dedication and the fire my dad has and what he put into me.
"I’m glad I was the first male born boxer and went through that whole programme."
The WBO world heavyweight title is on the line for Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois on May 9, only on DAZN PPV. Buy as a one-off PPV or included, along with the Usyk vs Verhoeven (May 23), Fury vs. Hall (June 13) and Zayas vs. Ennis (June 27) PPVs, with a DAZN Ultimate Tier subscription.
