The Ipswich man has many things in his favour going into this stern test and one of them is home advantage as Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town, will host the huge heavyweight clash.
The local crowd will be roaring for Wardley and giving Huni a hard time, but that has been the expectation in Britain in recent months, and it has not always gone to plan.
At the start of May, Leigh Wood, a big name in Nottingham, walked out in his city’s arena to try and land a huge world title fight by taking on Anthony Cacace.
Wood was ending a lengthy spell of inactivity, but his most recent performance had some people convinced he had the power to get past the Belfast man.
Instead, Cacace sent the Nottingham crowd home unhappy as he produced a stellar performance to register a stoppage in round nine .
Later in May, Johnny Fisher was hoping to take a big leap up the heavyweight rankings by going over old ground with Dave Allen.
The Essex man had the Copper Box arena packed out with his army of supporters, but they were left stunned when Allen delivered one of the best knockouts of the year so far to end matters in the fifth round .
At the end of May, Josh Taylor, a former undisputed world champion, was aiming to take big strides at welterweight as he made his debut there against Ekow Essuman.
Taylor, a proud Scot, was fighting in his homeland for the first time in three years and the people of Glasgow turned out for him.
They were treated to a vintage performance in the first few sessions, but Essuman worked his way back into the fight in the second half and was given the verdict on the scorecards at the end of 12 brilliant rounds .
Moving into June, can Huni maintain the away corner phenomenon that currently exists? Or will Wardley use the might of his community to get him over the line?
