Ageing former world champions get ready for battle in hilarious new video

Their initial encounter in October 2023 was one of the most dramatic finishes seen in a British ring in recent years, with Warrington well ahead scorecards and boxing beautifully before being stopped in shocking fashion by a vicious combination in the seventh round.

Warrington has argued ever since that he should have been allowed to continue and despite the desire from both men for an immediate return, talk of a potential rematch dragged on so long that most fans assumed that it wasn’t going to happen.

Over 28 months will have passed since their first clash when they final fight again at the Nottinham Arena and Matchroom have made fun of that lengthy wait with a hilarious promotional video for the highly-anticipated rematch.

In a video released on X on Tuesday, the scene is set in 2075 with the two aging warriors finally getting ready for a second bout which has been over 50 years in the making.
