It's fight week and the biggest clash of the summer goes on Saturday evening from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, when unified super welterweight champion Xander Zayas puts his WBA/WBO belts on the line against former unified welterweight champion Jaron 'Boots' Ennis, live on DAZN PPV.
The week has just started, and the trash talk began to ramp up on Monday. During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Helwani brought to Zayas that he'd said in the past that Ennis is flat-footed.Â
"He is," Zayas quickly retorted, cutting Helwani off. "He is flat-footed. He knows it."
Helwani, unsure if Zayas is being serious as he's smiling at the host, doubles down on the assertion.
"I feel like he does," Zayas said about Ennis believing he's flat-footed. "Ask him."
The 23-year-old went as far as to say that he thinks his footwork is better than that of the native of Philadelphia.
"I think he'll say, 'I have better footwork than he does,'" Zayas said as Ennis will be on the show Tuesday.Â
Xander Zayas puts the WBA/WBO super welterweight titles against Jaron "Boots" Ennis this Saturday, June 27, exclusively live on DAZN. Buy as a one-off PPV or included, along with Joshua vs. Prenga (July 25) and Canelo vs. M'billi (Sept 12) PPVs, with a DAZN Ultimate Tier subscription.
