Sunday's game delivered a shocking result and one getting themselves back into a series that, with a loss, would have put them into a deep hole.
Canadiens rout Sabres
Things didn't start well for the Montreal Canadiens as the Sabres scored a minute into the game with a goal by Tage Thompson. From there, the Canadiens took control in front of their hometown fans. The Canadiens reeled off four consecutive goals by Alex Newhook, Cole Caufield, Zack Bolduc and Juraj Slafkovsky and didn't look back, taking care of the Buffalo Sabres 6-2.
The Canadiens will look to go up 3-1 on Tuesday night when they host Game 4 from the Bell Centre.
Ducks even up the series
In an exciting back-and-forth game, it was the Anaheim Ducks who prevailed this time around, beating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 to even the Western Conference semifinal at two games apiece. Four different players scored for the Ducks as Beckett Sennecke, Mikael Granlund, Alex Killorn, and Ian Moore lit the lamp.
The all pivotal Game 5 occurs on Tuesday night as the series returns to Las Vegas.
