Alex Pereira teases move to heavyweight, but on one condition

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is strongly interested in a move up to heavyweight, but he will only face Jon Jones if he decides to do so.
Jones is currently the UFC's heavyweight champion, and made a successful defence of his belt against Stipe Miocic in November.
Following this win, there were calls for Jones to face interim champion Tom Apsinall, but the American has frequently stated that he will only take the fight if he is offered the right amount of money.
However, when it comes to a potential showdown with Pereira, it's one which Jones appears to be more onboard with and speaking to The Ariel Helwani Show, Pereira revealed that Jones is the only man he wants to face at heavyweight.
"It's not about only fighting at heavyweight," Pereira said.
"At first, I made the noise [about potentially moving up], but now I think it can be a risk, cannot be a risk. I'm the champ, I want to fight the champ, so let's make the fight with Jon Jones, that's the fight that I want for heavyweight.
"Anything's possible. A lot of things no one thought could happen, happen with me."
While Pereira is eyeing up a change in weight, he first makes another defence of his light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 in March.
Pereira will be hoping to continue what was a huge 2024 which saw 'Potan' put together three successful title defences, with all three fights ending by way of knockout.
