Bellator Championship Series: Usman Nurmagomedov retains title after dominating Alexander Shabliy

Bellator hosted a Championship Series event from San Diego, CA on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Headlining the card was a lightweight title fight between reigning champion Usman Nurmagomedov and the challenger, Alexander Shabliy. Nurmagomedov was returning to action after a brief suspension and defended his title once again. The champion has never lost a fight and he continued that streak with a dominant points win over Shabliy.
Khabib Nurmagomedov declared Usman the best lightweight fighter, even over himself.
"It was a tough fight for me, he was a tough guy," Usman said after the fight. "I am happy now."
