Niall McGreevy produced one of the knockout moments of 2026 as the Irishman dethroned Rajadamnern Stadium welterweight champion Tapaokaew Singmawynn with a spectacular second-round finish at Rajadamnern World Series.
Heading into the contest, McGreevy faced the toughest test of his career against one of Thailand's most accomplished active stadium champions. By the end of the night, he had not only claimed the Rajadamnern Stadium welterweight title but also delivered a knockout that will undoubtedly enter the conversation for Muay Thai's KO of the Year.
Biggest win of McGreevy's career
Tapaokaew entered the bout having established himself as one of the leading names in the division.
The Thai star had successfully defended the Rajadamnern Stadium welterweight title on multiple occasions, defeating the likes of Li Jialong, Nuenglanlek Jitmuangnon, Alexis Laugeois and Saenpon Sor.Sommai to cement his reign.
McGreevy, meanwhile, arrived unbeaten in his previous three RWS appearances after victories over Erdem Dincer, Peemai Por Kobkuea and Hamza Sabri, earning his opportunity to challenge for one of Muay Thai's most prestigious championships.
Devastating elbow ends the fight
The opening round was closely contested, with both fighters enjoying moments of success as they looked to establish control.
Everything changed in round two.
After beginning to find his rhythm, McGreevy unleashed a perfectly timed elbow that landed flush, sending Tapaokaew crashing to the canvas and bringing an immediate end to the contest. The knockout stunned the Bangkok crowd and instantly became one of the defining moments of the Rajadamnern World Series season.
The finish also snapped Tapaokaew's title reign and crowned McGreevy as the first Irish fighter to secure the Series' welterweight crown.
