EFC 136 results: Adrian Sanchez stops Bradley Swanepoel to win interim lightweight title

Adrian Sanchez is the new Extreme Fighting Championship interim lightweight champion after stopping Bradley Swanepoel in the opening round of Thursday night's EFC 136 main event.
Sanchez needed just 4:39 of the first round to finish Swanepoel with punches, capping an impressive performance to secure the interim 155lb belt in Johannesburg.
Elsewhere on the main card, Sithembiso Hadebe earned a unanimous decision victory over Godfrey Mkhwanazi, while Adei Volker produced the submission of the night by locking in a second-round guillotine choke against Joel Tiffo.
Coenie Lamprecht also secured a first-round submission, forcing Lecture Ntshangase to tap to a rear-naked choke, before Nasiphi Vellem opened the televised card with a unanimous decision win over Lucky Magekha.
