UFC 311: Islam Makhachev subs Renato Moicano with d'arce in first round

UFC 311 was supposed to be headlined by UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and the challenger Arman Tsarukyan, but a short notice pull out from Tsarukyan saw a new main event in play.
Due to a back injury to Tsarukyan, Renato Moicano was called up for a title shot on less than 24 hours notice. Moicano was already slated to be on the card so he was in fight camp but he wasn't preparing to fight the champion or fight a potential five round affair.
Unfortunately the under perparedness was apparent as Makhachev was able to secure the d'arce choke in the very first round.
"I always looking for finish," he said. "If opponent gives me a small chance, I will finish." He didn't call out anyone after the fight instead called for whoever wanted the belt to come into the cage and get it.
"I'm very sad, I wanted my whole life for this moment and I tapped in the first round," Moicano said choking up over the loss.
