Spain bid to derail France at World Cup
World Cup favourites France are hoping for revenge when they take on Spain in a repeat of their Euro 2024 semi-final, which the latter won 2-1.
A battle between two of the world’s best players, France captain Kylian Mbappe and 19-year-old Spain star Lamine Yamal, will unfold at the Dallas Stadium.
The match kicks off at 8pm, with live coverage on ITV and ITVX from 7pm.
England switch focus to India ODI series
England sealed a 4-0 T20 series win againstIndia on Saturday and now switch focus to the first of three ODIs against the tourists.
Two days after Brendon McCullum was sacked as Test coach, the New Zealander will continue his white-ball tenure, with the action set to start at Edgbaston at 11am, with coverage on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket at 10.15am.
England and India will meet in the second and third ODIs at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff (July 16) and at Lord’s (July 19) respectively.
Tour de France resumes after rest day
Defending champion Tadej Pogacar aims to build on his slender lead in the general classification when the Tour de France resumes with stage 10, from Aurillac to Le Lioran, on Tuesday (TNT Sports 1 at midday).
Pogacar retained the yellow jersey after Sunday’s stage nine when the Slovenian finished in the chasing peloton, six seconds behind Dutch winner Mathieu van der Poel.
Britain’s Tom Pidcock will be hoping for better luck as he finished Sunday’s stage in third place despite being hampered by technical problems.
What else is happening on Tuesday?
England continue their preparations for Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final against Argentina, with three players and head coach Thomas Tuchel scheduled for press conferences at the Atlanta Stadium from 5.45pm.
Shamrock Rovers, Larne and the New Saints are all in Champions League first round second-leg qualifying action and there is a full programme of Premier Sports Cup group matches.
Rory McIlroy, world number one Scottie Scheffler and Justin Rose are among the golfers scheduled to appear at press conferences on Tuesday in the build-up to The Open at Royal Birkdale, which starts on Thursday.
