Alex Bass stars as Peterborough earn point against Stevenage
Peterborough and Stevenage played out a goalless draw on Tuesday night in League One.
Posh’s Alex Bass was the busier of the two keepers as Boro were left still searching for their first league win of the new season.
Both sides had early chances to take the lead as Bass did well to keep out Dan Kemp’s ferocious drive before Harry Leonard fired wide down the other end in an exciting first 10 minutes.
Harrison Jones nodded wide from James Dornelly’s cross as Luke Williams’ hosts saw another chance go begging.
On the half-hour, Bass pulled off the save of the game to keep out Phoenix Patterson’s low strike.
In the second half, defender Carl Piergianni headed Josh Magennis’ delivery wide of the mark.
Bass once again frustrated Kemp as Stevenage searched for a winner.
Leonard could only fire over the bar after a nifty cut back from Chris Conn-Clarke, and Terence Vancooten made a great last-ditch block deep in stoppage time to ensure Stevenage secured a point.
