Who is Allan? Meet the Brazilian wonderkid Manchester City want

Geovanni and Elano were the first, arriving from Cruzeiro and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively, and since then there have been Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Ederson amongst others.

This summer has been one of significant change for City, with Pep Guardiola and a collective of key players gone and one Brazilian, Savinho, looks set to follow.

Now, reports suggest that the club have lined up their next acquisition from the Land of Samba. Meet 22-year-old right-winger Allan.

Manchester City consider Allan to replace Savinho.

Last summer, Savinho was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, and after an unimpactful season with Man City, he seems destined to move there before the transfer window closes.

While Enzo Maresca has Jeremy Doku in that position, with Jack Grealish and Jeremy Monga as backups, reports suggest City would look to replace Savinho, should he leave.

In his place, Allan has been identified as the priority target, but his club Palmeiras are aiming to hold on to him amid his €100million release clause, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.

Allan came through the Palmeiras academy, which boasts Endrick, Estevao and Jesus amongst its graduates and has made 95 senior appearances since his first-team debut in January 2025.

Savinho has operated on both wings during his time at City due to the calibre of options, whereas Allan has heavily featured on the right in the early stages of his career.

What would Allan bring to the Premier League?

When analysing Allan's underlying numbers from the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season, it is easy to understand why he would be of interest to City.

His four goals and two assists in 20 appearances are encouraging for a winger, but his ability at both ends of the pitch suggests he would be a player who could adapt to the English game.

This season, the 22-year-old has already completed 46 dribbles, ranking him in the top 2 per cent of right-wingers in the division, while just under 60 per cent of those dribbles were successful, according to Fotmob.

In a duel, the Brazilian is equally impressive, winning 119 so far, which places him in the top three per cent of players in his position.

Of course, the modern-day winger is expected to do their due diligence at both ends of the pitch, and Allan has demonstrated that he is also capable of doing the less flattering work too.

He ranks in the top eight per cent of right-wingers for defensive contributions and tackles, giving him all-round appeal.

Given his age and the options City have at their disposal, Allan would likely be utilised as a squad player behind Doku, but if Maresca follows Pep's lead, then opportunities would arrive sporadically.

There is clearly much that would need to happen before a move to Manchester City materialises, but when the club want their man, they usually get them sooner or later.
