Andy Gray to return to the airwaves with talkSPORT
Andy Gray will make his return to British broadcasting next week with talkSPORT.
The former Scotland and Everton striker was one of the most familiar voices on Sky Sports until he had his contract terminated in 2011 for “unacceptable and offensive behaviour”.
Gray has not commentated in the UK since 2014 but he will join Jim Proudfoot for talkSPORT’s coverage of the Champions League clash between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday.
Gray previously co-hosted a show on talkSPORT with his long-time on-screen partner Richard Keys, with the last episode airing in 2013.
Following their departure from Sky, Gray and Keys headed to the Middle East, where they presented coverage of the Premier League for Qatari channel beIN Sports.
That role ended following the conclusion of last season and Gray is set to feature on selected commentaries for talkSPORT through the campaign – he also has a podcast called ‘Unleashed’ alongside Keys.
In announcing the 70-year-old’s return to the UK airwaves, talkSPORT described Gray as “one of football’s iconic voices”.
