Bayern Munich fire Bundesliga blank for first time in over 18 months at Schalke
Bayern Munich failed to score in the Bundesliga for the first time in more than 18 months as they were held to a goalless draw by newly-promoted Schalke.
Home keeper Loris Karius produced a string of fine saves, including to deny Harry Kane late on, with Vincent Kompany choosing to start with the England captain and Michael Olise on the bench.
The major positive for Kompany was the return, also off the bench, of Jamal Musiala after he twice collapsed in friendly games last month.

Lautaro Martinez scored a stoppage-time winner as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Napoli 3-2 and maintain their perfect start in Serie A.
Napoli had looked in control after two goals in the space of five minutes early in the second half from Matteo Politano and Rasmus Hojlund.
Martinez, though, started the fightback before Marcus Thuram headed an equaliser with eight minutes left and the Inter captain then snatched victory.
