Bellingham brothers set to take to FIFA Club World Cup stage after Jobe completes Bundesliga move

Jobe Bellingham will take his place alongside brother Jude at this week's FIFA Club World Cup after he completed his move to Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland.
The midfielder joins the Bundesliga side for a reported fee of around £30 million, a club record sale for the Black Cats, and follows in his older brother's footsteps by signing for the club where Jude made his name on the European stage.
Bellingham played 70 times for Sunderland after joining in 2023, with his final act being part of the side that helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in their play-off victory over Sheffield United.
In a statement on Sunderland's website and across social media, Bellingham thanked the North-east side and its supporters.
He said: “It’s time for me to say farewell to all the loyal people of Sunderland, who have powered me through two incredible years in red and white.
"Your support, on so many occasions, has completely blown me away, especially in the times of adversity, which we pulled through together. You welcomed me with open arms as a kid leaving home for the first time, and I am proud that our relationship has grown to be so strong.
"I will always represent Wearside in all that I strive to achieve for the rest of my career, wherever that may be. I hope that I have made you proud along the way, and in return, you have made me the player that has reached the heights I find myself at today. I will love and remember you fondly for the rest of my life.
"To the staff, players, and most importantly, the supporters, thank you so much, and good luck for the future.”
The 19-year-old will now be eligible to play in the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on Saturday when Inter Miami takes on Al Ahly. Dortmund are in Group F and face games against Fluminense, Ulsan HD, and Mamelodi Sundowns in one of the tournament's most eclectic groups.
Meanwhile, his brother, Jude, and his Real Madrid team are in Group H alongside Al Hilal, Pachuca, and Red Bull Salzburg.
The elder Bellingham spent three seasons at Dortmund before his big move to Real Madrid last summer, helping the club win a DFB-Pokal in 2021 and establishing himself as one of Europe's biggest young talents.
