There will be a Boxing Day bonanza of National League action on Friday, as Braintree Town and Southend United meet in an all-Essex affair.
The Shrimpers are seeking their first league victory in over a month, having lost their last two games to Forest Green Rovers and Tamworth. However, they did defeat Truro City 4-0 in the FA Trophy in mid-December.
Kevin Maher's side were beaten 2-1 at Tamworth, but still sit inside the play-off places in seventh place with a one-point cushion and two games in hand on the chasing pack.
As for Braintree, they delivered a respectable 0-0 draw at home to play-off hopefuls Hartlepool United, leaving them in 19th and only one point above the relegation zone.
