The Round of 32 concludes on Friday, with the final three matches taking place to complete the last 16 field.
Today sees Lionel Messi get his say in the Golden Boot race for the ages, as well as another chance for Mo Salah to extend his World Cup farewell.

Australia vs. Egypt

Australia were perhaps a surprise name to make it through the group stages following impressive displays against Turkey and Paraguay, and go into the clash with Egypt full of confidence.
They probably face their toughest task so far when they meet the Africans, who are yet to suffer defeat so far in North America.
And, in Mo Salah, they have a player who will want to keep his farewell tour going and continue his last dance on the international stage.

Argentina vs. Cape Verde

Cape Verde have been the underdog story of 2026, but this dog may have well had its day because they now face the might of the reigning world champions, and Lionel Messi.
The living legend has his sights on a World Cup Golden Boot, which is bad news for their plucky opponents, because Messi's sights are firmly set on the small African island.
Argentina's path looks a relatively comfortable one, and this could be the opening act of becoming the first team to retain the World Cup crown since Brazil in 1962.
Colombia vs. Ghana

- Kick-off: 2.30am BST (July 4) / 8.30pm ET / 5.30pm PT
- Venue: Kansas City Stadium
Colombia have quietly gone about their business so far in the tournament, without anyone really hyping their performances or the potential to be possible knockout dark horses.
Ghana will present them with issues, no doubt, and as we've already seen against England, can be very stubborn defensively.
However, so far the South Americans have been very astute in finding ways to win, and they'll back themselves to continue that in this final game of the round.
