World Cup 2026: Round of 16 fixtures, kick-off times and venues

The World Cup knockout games are coming thick and fast, and the Round of 16 schedule is beginning to take shape.
Unlike previous iterations of the tournament, the Round of 16 is the second round of knockout matches following the newly introduced Round of 32.
As 16 teams take another step towards footballing glory, here's the schedule for the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
When is the Round of 16?
The Round of 16 matches will begin on Saturday, July 4 and conclude on Tuesday, July 7.

World Cup 2026 format and schedule
With 48 nations involved at this World Cup, there were 12 Groups of four teams each.
The top two in each group qualified for the knockout stages, with the eight best third-place teams also progressing. That meant that for the first time in World Cup history, a Round of 32 was played.

- Round of 32: June 29-July 3
- Round of 16: July 4-7
- Quarter-finals: July 9-12
- Semi-finals: July 14-15
- Bronze final: July 18
- Final: July 19
