World Cup 2026 may have just ended, but the thirst for international football is bigger than it's ever been and already there's excitement ahead of the next tournament in four years' time.

With North America having hosted proceedings this year, the next finals will take on a whole new flavour as part of the World Cup's 100th anniversary.

DAZN News has all you need to know about the 2030 World Cup.

Who is hosting the 2030 World Cup?

The 2030 finals will be unlike any other previous World Cup tournament, as FIFA goes all out to celebrate the competition's centennial year.

Once again, there will be three hosts, but across two continents, with Spain and Portugal sharing the honours with Morocco, who become the second African nation to host the finals.

However, in addition to these nations, there will also be three games played in special celebrations in Paraguay, Argentina and the setting of the first-ever World Cup in 1930, Uruguay.

How many teams will compete at the 2030 World Cup?

The plan for the tournament as it stands is to repeat the same format as seen in 2026, by having 48 teams compete in the next World Cup.

However, there is a proposal in place to see the finals expand yet further and include 64 nations by 2030.

This is yet to be confirmed by FIFA, but there is real belief that it is being taken under consideration and will be announced as the plan going forward.

When does the 2030 World Cup begin?

The tournament is scheduled to kick off on 8 June 2030 and run until 21 July 2030.

Games will take place across 12 possible cities in Spain, two in Portugal and upto six over in Morocco.
